WIth the rise in Green Tourism, it has become imperative for the industry adopt newer technologies to monitor of resource utilization in Real Time. A giant of the Indian hospitality space partnered with Greenvironement to install real time water management (RTM) systems across 15 of its prime properties across India. These include mountain resorts – Ooty, Madikeri, Virajpet, Munnar, Tungi, Naldehra, Shimla, Kandaghat and Kumbhalgarh, Water Front resorts – Ashtamudi, Alappuzha, Pondicherry, Goa Varca, Goa Emerald Palms and City resort in Diu.

Greenvironmentindia’s Real Time Monitoring (RTM) solutions for water utilities help the resorts manage their of water usage sustainably. The system helps for not just for the optimal use and re-use of water, but also as a way to keep its green building credentials.

All resorts saw the installation of Greenvironment’s custom Internet of things (IoT) based water monitoring system directly leading to the improved overall efficiency of Sewage Water Treatment Plants (STPs) Resorts,

With the real time monitoring of STP is in place, the treated water can be reutilized for flushing other than irrigation as well.

Outcomes

Madikeri

Post the installation of the RTM, the treatment efficiency is increased by 30%, disinfection efficiency is increased by 32% and filtration efficiency is increased by 36%. Overall plant efficiency is increased by 33%.

Emerald Palms

Here, the treatment efficiency is increased by 50%, disinfection efficiency is increased by 43% and filtration efficiency is increased by 48%. The overall plant efficiency is increased by 47%.
